After the crash of the GermanWings airplane in March 2015, we wrote This Train Is About To Explode. It is about how remarkable it is, that all of us lucky bastards manage to go on with our ordinary lives, just hours or days after some terrible disaster or terrorist attack happens. Even after the attacks of November 13, 2015, the Parisians were swarming the terraces, bars and restaurants in no time. Bad news for the terrorists! We’re all survival artists.
The words are:
Mrs Wilson, standing by the door
Mr Wilson calls her Eleanor
Please move on, she says
We have to be on time
The train won’t wait
So Mr and Mrs Wilson
Leave at four o’clock PM
Just in time to avoid the traffic jam
When they reach the tube
A crowd is pouring in
And so it goes when Mr Wilson says
We’re carrying a massive load
The moment we type the code
This train is about to explode
Oh yeah, explode
Everyone was taken by surprise
The papers, the experts, began to analyse
How could this be true
They seemed to be so nice
The neighbours said
But twenty-four were dead and
Buried, before the week was done
They reached for motives
And concluded there were none
As time went by the news
About Fred and Eleanor
Just seemed to fade
‘Till Mr Johnson said
We’re carrying a massive load
The moment we type the code
This train is about to explode
Oh yeah, explode
